So like any good nerd I've repartitioned my hard drive, install grub, and install Ubuntu Linux! I'm now updating the OS and hoping it picks up my wireless card's drivers. I'm plug into my switch right now.
All in all it was pretty smooth, I had to defrag my windows XP install first. And let me tell you it was baaaaad. After that I just ran GRUB from the Ubuntu install CD, resized my XP partition, create a grub and a Primary EXT and off I went!
Like I said I"m running updates now and I'll play with it a little bit at the office tomorrow. I'm really happy this work b.c I tried it on my desktop and it was hell (the install saw both disk instead of the hardware RAID1 I have setup). I'll update the post in the morning!

9:56am EST
So Ubuntu is all updated, desktop effects have been turned on, and i'm up and running! Though we have hit our first snag. When I left my house I suspended the session and when I opened my laptop it awoke from the suspend but all i could see was the mouse. So one hard reboot later I was back into Ubuntu. I was surfing around, installed Songbird, checked out some of the desktop effects, and I was pretty happy. But now i'm at work an I have to use Windows if for nothing else Exchange Email. blah!! I'm going to mess around with VMWare this weekend to see if I can use my windows Partition as a VM like I did with Parallels and my Macbook Pro (way back when..).
But thing are moving forward and I'm happy nothing has blown up yet :-D

The Friends Theme and Sugar Ray
I Started the Blog with this guy, thought it would be a nice way to continue it...
Rob Paravonian uses the theme from Friends and the Sugar Ray song Every Morning to show that if you listen to the lyrics of a pop tune, it becomes really difficult to enjoy it anymore

Mystic River Sunset
This is an amazing shot of the sunset on the Mystic river. This is a few blocks from my home and although i've lived there for a short amount of time I see this bridge almost every day and it reminds me that I'm home. I've never seen it quite like this before.
The Search is over
So while parking my car on Friend St I did a very tourist thing an I took a photo of The Greatest Bar.
Never been there before but I'll have to go now to see if it lives up to it's name!

Lego imitates fine art
Who knew you could set up such realistic 3D versions of fine art and classic movies with LEGO? That's just what Flickr user Udronotto has done. That's his takeoff on Edward Hopper's painting "Nighthawks" above, and he's got an entire 42-pic set that shows you the depth of his talents. Pretty impressive art work. I would be proud to have any of these in my apartment, maybe in a shadow box? Oh the ideas!

Mr. O'Brien and guest
Nothing screams "you are single" more then weddings. I got the invite for my best friend's wedding and the card said, "Mr. O'Brien and guest". So is this putting pressure on me to bring someone? Or should I fly solo and save them a dinner. I would like to bring someone but I don't have anyone to bring. I would like to invite Mary or another friend of mine who became single recently, but that would be a huge step and I would have to put myself out there and i think we all know how i feel about that one... i'll wrestle it over in my head this week, i have til the 30th to mail it back.
